Content (What You Say) and Delivery (How You Say It) are connected in a feedback loop that we call the Virtuous Cycle of Good Communication: When you know your Content, your Delivery tends to improve. That's common sense. What's less intuitive is that the system runs in the opposite direction as well: When you focus on Delivery, not only will you sound better, but you'll think of smarter stuff to say.
What the heck does that have to do with acing an interview? Glad you asked.
In this course, you'll learn to unlock both sides of that Virtuous Cycle to improve the impression that you make in any setting that involves answering questions: a job interview, a conversation at a networking event, an important professional conversation, even interactions with the media.
On the Delivery front, we'll teach you a series of drills that help increase expressiveness and engagement, improve your linguistic precision, and leverage the power of pausing. Then we'll cover how to use physical exercises and a communication warm-up to overcome nerves. Next we'll improve your Content with exercises to develop your tentpole topics; a system of Five S's that makes material more engaging and memorable; Breathing Time Techniques that help you share your best ideas in response to unexpected questions; and Transparency Phrases for navigating tricky interactions. You'll apply these skills in real time using a custom world in our practice app, Questions Roulette, in order to unlock the power of Embodied Cognition (learning by doing).
